The John Kensett Suite

The John Kensett Suite is located on the southwest corner of the second floor.  Its centerpiece is Kensett’s bucolic scene (1855) of the Bash Bish Falls, located on the New York – Massachusetts border.  The room’s décor highlighting pastoral hues of green, ivory, and gray.  The room benefits from both morning and evening light from its three windows that look down to Danskammer’s side yard gardens and front hedges.  Our smallest room, the Kensett Suite is furnished with two long twin beds, an ensuite bathroom with transom-supplied borrowed light, and a closet.  Furnishings include Dover-style oak beds made by Amish craftsmen, a shared night stand, two side chairs, a tilt-top table, a console table,  and multiple lamps.  The Kensett  Room is equipped with a Mitsubishi ductless unit affording individual guest control of the heating and cooling system  The guest suite also offers an individually controlled ceiling fan in the bedroom and an energy-boost heater in the bathroom.
